Trainer:  Kate Williams BSc MA RD has recently retired after 40 years as a Dietitian, with the past 30 years specialising in eating disorders in what is now the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Kate says “In 1988 I took up a post at The Maudsley and Bethlem Hospitals, working in all areas of mental health, and this included eating disorders, where I was extremely lucky to find Professor Gerald Russell, Janet Treasure and Ulrike Schmidt were among many inspiring colleagues.  At first, I was one of a very small number of Dietitians specialising in the field, and we worked together to build our knowledge and skills to help people with eating disorders to recover their nutritional health, and confidence to feed themselves well.  Eating disorders has grown as a speciality in UK dietetics, and I have been proud to be part of that.”
