Meet Our Community Support Workers

After you first get in touch with SWEDA, you will be contacted by one of our Community Support Workers, who cover different areas of Somerset:

sue

Sue - Sedgemoor

emma

Emma - South Somerset

mel

Mel - Mendip

 amanda

Amanda - West Somerset & Taunton

They will then arrange a Support & Guidance session to talk to you about what you are going through and what services SWEDA might be able to offer you. For more information on what will happen during this appointment, please click here.

Our Community Support Workers work closely with colleges and sixth forms throughout Somerset and can therefore provide support to you whilst at college.  If you have concerns about your eating and would like to speak to someone, please contact your student support team or contact us at [email protected] to arrange a visit.

“I saw a SWEDA support worker on campus at university. I had been struggling with binge eating disorder and compulsive exercise for about ten years. The SWEDA support worker was able to help me look at my relationship with food and my body in a different way. I have learned to be kinder to myself and they taught me techniques which helped me to slow down my thinking. Now I can go out and have fun without worrying all the time.”
