Navigating the site

Hopefully finding your way around the Somerset
& Wessex Eating
Disorders Association
website should be a fairly simple affair. Each page has a menu bar giving
access to pages in its section or to top level pages if it is a main
page. All pages, whether sub-level or not, have a Home Menu containing
the following buttons -
which links to the homepage and sitemap respectively
The menu bar that appears below the Home Menu depends on the section
of the site being viewed, if the section has a menu page and subsections
the first button in the 2nd menu bar will return users to that section's
index, such buttons can be identified by the
icon.
In the footer, the bar at the end of each page, (to save
scrolling to the top of the page again) can be found the following icons
- .
The arrows perform the same functions as a browser's Back and Forward
buttons and the central world icon will take you back to the Index Page.
Clicking on a graphic next to a page's title should also take you back
to the main index page or a section's index page.
On some pages, such as the Eating Disorders section and various document
pages links to other pages are in the form of a drop down menu, to navigate
to a page just select it from the appropriate menu. For pages in which
content is selected by drop-down menus there are also usually accompanying
"Map" pages that provide an alternative way to access content (using
standard links). Map pages are indicated by a icon
on their buttons.
Some large pages have their own table of contents to navigate within
the page itself, such large pages usually have a
button to return to the top of the page.
Menu items containing an icon,
,
are dynamic and contain PHP code, depending on the load on the server
they may take slightly longer to open that ordinary pages.
Please note that you can navigate the entire SWEDA site from the Sitemap
and that a Sitemap button will always be available from within the Home
Menu.
We hope that you enjoy the website and find it useful.
