Shadows on My wall

You see me
Who do you see?
The strong energetic compassionate me?
Who do you see?
The organised leader so bubbly and kind?
Yet I see me
I see me
Quite differently
Inside I hurt,
I ache,
I cry
But you don’t see the me I see

There is a gap
Between you and me
The me you see and
The me I see
The veil of silence separates
My voice
From body and soul
No sound passes out
All stored within
You know me
But I know me
You see me quite differently
You see the light
The strength
The radiant energy
I’m glad you do
You would not like the me I see

I live with my shadow
The dark side of me
The one I feel holds social shame
I hide me, the shadow of me
Behind my skin
Filed from the world
For the world likes us to respond
I am ok
When they ask the unbearable
So how are you?
Not waiting or wanting the truthful reply
Ok we say you me and he
So how would it be?
How would it be if you saw the different me
The secret me
The shadows on my wall
