Research into the link between eating disorders and self harming or Self Controlling behaviour

I am a second year medical student at Bristol University and am looking for volunteers to help me with a project I am doing. I am looking into how eating disorders can manifest either as ways to regain self control or as a form of punishment. This is often linked to the reasons behind the development of the eating disorder.

I am looking for volunteers to write me an email account of why they feel they developed their eating disorder and how their eating disorder has progressed. I am particularly interested in how it has affected you emotionally, and how you cope on a daily basis.

The emails will remain completely confidential, I will not reply to them unless you consent to me asking more questions and you do not need to include your name or personal detail, although I would appreciate if you gave your age.

I would be very grateful for any help as it would give me an invaluable incite into how eating disorders affect the individual.
