Cognitive
behavioural therapy and psychodynamic approaches in counselling
for people with eating disorders
I am a second year student undertaking a diploma in counselling. As part of the course we are required to complete a research project on a subject that can be related to counselling. I have chosen to evaluate, compare and contrast cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic approaches in counselling for people with eating disorders. My main question for the project is how effective are both of these two approaches? What are the advantages/hindrances, if any of each? I would ideally like to interview people who have received either CBT or counselling using psychodynamic approaches at the time of having or being in recovery from an eating disorder. I do not intend to use the whole interview in my work. Participants will be able to withdraw from the study at any time. Confidentiality is assured: I will not use your real name and it will only be me who will have access to the original interview. I would be very grateful if anyone would be able to participate. My contact details are as follows: am.jenner@tiscali.co.uk Many thanks |
